BOOK LOVE! And giveaway.

It's time for some Book Love, Part 2: the more interesting part, wherein I give away free books.

Ready? Sure ya are.

RULES: Post a comment to this entry, listing one book you've read in the past month (and hopefully liked) and one book you're looking forward to reading. Links and friend/self book pimping entirely allowed. Contest will be open until 9 AM Mountain time Thursday. (Sadly, no entries outside the U.S. and Canada this time--the last winner was from Australia, and shipping cost more than the books!) I'll throw the names of posters in a random generator (because I'm lazy that way) and pick one lucky winner. Said winner will get to CHOOSE TWO BOOKS from the following selection:

    I read David Sedaris's Me Talk Pretty One Day and I have been looking forward to David Guterson's The Others. It is next on my TBR pile.

    I read Lee Child's The Killing Floor this month, and I'm looking forward to Rosemary Clement-Moore's Hell Week. (If you read YA, I highly recommend her first book, Prom Dates From Hell.)

    I read WHEN YOU ARE ENGULFED IN FLAMES by David The Most Awesomest Sedaris.

    I also loved DEATH BY BIKINI by Linda Gerber, after glomming it up in one afternoon.

    Next on the list is PILLARS OF THE EARTH, which has been sitting on my TBR pile for a year.

    One of the books I read this month was A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce -- awesome.

    A book I'm dying to read is Jackie Kessler's Hotter Than Hell. It's written from a male's POV, a Demon of Lust to be exact. :D

    I have read David McCullough's 1776 in preparation for Diana Gabaldon's Echo In the Bone to be published end of 2009. I am enjoying the history lesson. I also look forward to reading the Maytrees by Amie Dillon.

    My boss sent me a copy of ONE FOR THE MONEY by Janet Evanovich, so I read that this month. I liked it, reminded me of Sue Grafton and Karen Kijewski.

    Left a comment yesterday and it didn't take! ARGGGGHH!!!

    Anyway, last book that I LOVED was one I actually listened to on CD: Thomas Cahill's "Medieval Mysteries." Not only was the content outstanding, but it was read by a guy who sounds just like Jack Whyte, only British.
