I was nominated for an award this morning.
It's not the first time--in fact, I think this is the third--but it's a shock every time. The emotion of it, the surprise, is a kick in the gut. There was a lot of screaming going on this morning.
That's right, folks: I was nominated for Worst Mother Ever.
I think the direct quote from the nomination was "You are the Worst Mother EVER! You never let me do ANYTHING!" After that it sort of drifted off into a howl, so I didn't get it all down.
She's six, not thirteen. {sigh}
Fortunately, twenty minutes later I was nominated for Best Mother Ever. Hey, you take what you can get.
Speaking of which, can I get a crown over here? A sparkly one with gems? Surely one of the nominations deserves a crown?

Dang, I think I may have gotten that award once...it was the result of withholding chocolate milk. He's four so I don't think he knows the award's verbage yet...but the emotion was definitely there. I think a crown would be most appropriate. Something super sparkly.
Congratulations, you've got to be doing *something* right to get that one! Here's hoping it's not your last. (G)
LOL. Mine is 7 yrs, and according to her I have "ruined her life!" on many occasions. So, I can totally sympathize and/or congratulate you -- as the cases may be! :)
My mom ruined my life too. She used to let me go to the library UNSUPERVISED! The tawdry trash I read, the stories I inhaled...frankly they ruined me for anything but this life of books.
It's on you Mom!
